When I was an idealistic Freshman in college flirting with the idea of majoring in Psychology I thought of Jung as sort of the anti-Freud. Where Freud represented patriarchy at its worst, and perversion, and posturing, a sort of faux search for inner truths but in reality just an effort to label things and put them in neat little boxes...Jung represented a more real seach for inner truth, a desire for some sort of real understanding of himself, and his patients, and the world.
