True Blood

American TV series created by Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) and based on Charlaine Harris' 'The Southern Vampire Mysteries'.

It focuses on Sookie Stackhouse, a young telepathic waitress at Merlotte's, a bar in the fictional town of Bon Temps, Louisiana. In the world, vampires are now able to co-exist with humans thanks to the Japanese invention of a drink called Tru-Blood, which covers all of their nutritional needs. In this new setting, it isn't long until Sookie falls in love with one of them, opening not only a whole new world for her, but the rest of the town.

True Blood isn't the typical vampire story. It comes full of interesting and compelling characters and situations portrayed by a fantastic and talented ensemble cast along a great soundtrack to set.

A definitive winner, these series have been HBO's major success after 'The Sopranos' and it comes back for a third season on June 14th.
