For as long as I can remember I wanted to be a member of the cast of SNL. The show premiered just before I was born and Ive been watching it since I was able to sneak up late enough to. All through my life I've had people tell me that I should be on SNL. I assume it's something a lot of the, 'creative,' and funny people in their high school or college hear. I've done stand-up, I've had improv troupes, sketch troupes, I've written, I've studied, I've even taught improv comedy for several years. I feel I'm at the age now where if it was going to happen, it would've by now.
I was finally granted tickets to a rehearsal of the show. Megan Fox was the guest. I got to sit in the floor seats. Right on the stage. Looking up at all the lights, and around at the seats and cameras I actually started to cry a little. It was a powerful moment for me in that I always knew I'd end up there someday, I just didn't want it to be as an audience member. I will continue to watch. I will continue to defend against the cyclical gripe that the show isn't good anymore. Most of all, I will continue to do comedy because SNL or not, I just like to make people smile.
