The second world war is the most fascinating collection of true stories ever assembled and I am completely obsessed with hearing every one of them. I am especially obsessed with documentaries about the war, but love good Hollywood interpretations like "Saving Private Ryan" or "Band of Brothers". I get my current fix from HBO's mini-series, "The Pacific". The world was on the brink and men and women stepped up and fought for freedom. It was not the first time mind you, but maybe the most incredible considering the size and scope of the conflict. What those soldiers endured makes our lives seem so trivial. They are truly heroes.
