
Ahh, to describe Tom Waits... Singer, Songwrite, musician, composer, and actor. Plays keyboard, guitar, drums, the "conundrum," random other instruments and "alternative sound sources." He collects old bits of things that he finds at the side of a road for their sound value. Says that "hardware stores are fascinating if you go in there with a mallet." Has some really beautiful songs, some really fun, and some really dark. He's been in such movies as "Bram Stoker's Dracula" as Renfield, "Wristcutters" as Kneller, "The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus" as Mr. Nick, as well as a number of other movies and documentaries. He comes off a bit crazy, I think, but I have an appreciation for a bit crazy. I can't help but wear a big cheesy grin when I'm watching videos of live performances.
