The Smashing Pumpkins is an American alternative rock band that formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1988. The original lineup was made up of Billy Corgan (singer/guitarist), James Iha (guitarist), D'arcy Wretzky (bassist) and Jimmy Chamberlin (drummer). However, the band has gone through several bandmates over the years.
