
Kaiju (怪獣 kaijū) is a Japanese word that means "strange beast," but often translated in English as "monster". Specifically, it is used to refer to a genre of entertainment. The most famous kaiju is Godzilla. Kaiju are typically modeled after conventional animals, insects or mythological creatures; however, there are more exotic examples. Japanese companies include: Marmit, M1go, Marusan, Bandai, Gargamel, RealxHead, Secret Base, Amapro, Anraku Ansaku, Siccaluna Koubo, Zollmen, Bemon, U.S. Toys, Toygraph, TTToy, Target Earth, Hukkokudo, Rumble Monsters, Gigabrain, Pop Soda, CCP, Medicom....among so many small companies, it is sometimes hard to remember or keep track.
