For all of you who are obsessed with movies made from the silents of the 1920s through the decline of the studio era in the 1950s, this what is commonly called the Golden Age of Hollywood (not the 1970s). This is when stars, (writers, directors, set designers, and everyone else needed to make a movie) were under contract to a specific studio for a set period of time. For anyone who loves Turner Classic Movies, for anyone who knows that MGM had "more stars than there are in the heavens," for anyone who easily recognizes character actors.. this obsession was created.
