No: we think of another crazy Londoner, this one boozing at the now defunct Colony Room, keeping a very messy studio, endlessly quarreling with his gay lover, giving brilliant though sometimes indecipherable interviews and making some of the most exquisite paintings of modern times, ones that scream with desperation, violence and loneliness in a Godless world, touching the Goth girl that resides in all of us.
