There is not one human being in a thousand whose bare, or nearly bare feet should be seen on a public thoroughfare. I moved to Manhattan from California not long ago; there were few flip-flops when I arrived. Now they are nearly ubiquitous, just as though one were in Boise or Des Moines! This is a major metropolitan center of the WORLD! Put your damned shoes on when you come here! Flip-flops are only just forgivable in a locker room. Now, about cargo shorts...
