Butter

French is the best, but almost any good quality will do. I eat it alone, out of the wrapper. Good bread is a nice vehicle but not necessary. Potatoes accept it happily with good results. Almost anything tastes better with it. The English have something called a 'bacon buttey'. Bacon and butter on toast. Finally something English that's good! Butter on beef, butter (lots) on eggs. Spam sauteed in butter; pate, also. Anything breaded and fried in butter. When is it NOT wonderful?
