I found out about Rustin after the passage of Proposition 8 in California. There was a lot of media frenzy trying to turn the gays vs the blacks, and I wasn't buying it. It turns out that gay right are civil rights, and that its not the new black, but the old black. We're all on the same team. Please take a look at one of my heroes, Bayard Rustin, and share his story with anyone who tries to tell you that Gay Rights aren't Civil Rights!
