
Anthony Bourdain's show, No Reservations is a great glimpse into another country's culture (sometimes US state or region) a bit of history, some travel insights, shredding stereotypes left & right & then of course, the local fare...everything from fab street food & cafes, to rock star chef's amazing restaurants & their gorgeous dishes. (some are quite over the top, where even if i were able to travel to, would never be able to afford) & low key interviews w/ the chef, guide or host. he constantly reminds the viewer to open their mind...to the food, the people, the places...even the art & architecture... fits into my punk rock ethos very well!! more often than not, Mr. Bourdain will partake in 'the nasty bits'...some of the most disturbing ideas of 'food' which he'll try w/o blinking an eye. i've looked on in disbelief at times & have had to actually look away at other times. & though my ... (ah...sashimi...my fav) & the fact that Bourdain is a fellow smart ass (key word...smart) new yorker & loves the ramones are just bonus points.
