Halloween

Halloween rolls around once a year which seems hardly enough. There are few things in a childs life as important as candy. I was five or six the first time I became truly cognizant that Halloween was a day that all of my neighbors, including the old lady that yells at me for running across her lawn, were obligated to give me FREE candy. As we get older the candy is less of a draw. Halloween in your 20s and 30s becomes a day to live like a child, to play dress up and be a monster, ghost or slutty cop.

Hollywood Hogan is born

The date was July 7, 1996. More than 8,000 people filled the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Florida. In the crowd that day was itsasickness user Rich Fromm.

The much-loved trio of Randy Savage, Sting and Lex Luger were set to take on the loathed tag-team The Outsiders - plus their mystery third member. The Outsiders, Kevin Nash and Steve Hall, started the match short-handed, boasting no need for their mystery third member.

Round About Way to itsasickness.com

in

So in a roundabout way I discovered this site...that I don't really know what it's about or what it's supposed to be about but it's pretty fascinating to look at. The roundabout part came when I saw that Steve Gove (Prague Fringe Director) posted a video from Alan Cumming's blog (love'im) and then I decided to check out said blog and in making my way through stalking his blog I saw that
"He recently launched an obsession-based website www.itasickness.com"
He being Alan Cumming.

A Family Affair

Jason seems to be affected by music to the point of religious transcendence. I guess I'm jealous. Perhaps I have NO taste in music. I don't mean that I have BAD taste, I'm just a visual creature and have a propensity to be moved by a painting rather than an orchestra. I do remain conscious however that music can have profound effects on people and to judge them on their taste can be extremely hurtful. Tread carefully and either appreciate their appreciation or buy them a pair of headphones.

Prop 8 Overturned

How amazing it is to hear sanity and justice and truth and kindness in relation to equality for gay people. My favourite part of the decision is the judge's well-constructed and utterly invincible argument that marriage is not something that is entered into as only a means to procreate! There is no testing of your child-bearing potential when a marriage licence is given out so how can it only be applicable to a man and a woman, and how can it not be prejudiced to not allow a same sex couple to enter into that union?

Inception

Three weeks and almost $200 million domestic ticket sales later, “Inception” is still reverberating in the minds of millions. I, for one, saw the midnight IMAX showing and then saw it again the next day (yeah I geeked out, I work here, what did you expect?). I’m not going to get into the nitty gritty of all the details of the movie or offer my own theories about certain images and characters. I just wanted to note the obsessive way we as a culture have received the movie.

"Emi Peters Loves Itsasickness.com"

Obsessions can be creepy, but on the Web site ItsaSickness.com, they can also be pretty fun. Started by Barnaby Harris (creator of the infamous “fuck yoga” tees) and with actor Alan Cumming serving as president and spokesman, It’s a Sickness is an “obsession network for an obsessive culture,” according to its tag line.

Toys

When I was a kid I used to obsess over toys. All I could think was: How can I convince my parents to buy me the Ghostbusters Proton Pack? When is that new Pocket Power coming out? How many more months til my birthday? When’s Hannukah? Don’t I get money for Passover or something?
