SANCHEZ WINS DEBUT

Rookie QB Mark Sanchez and the NY Jets shocked the Houston Texans in the 2009 opener. The Sanchise was cool and calm, finishing 18 of 31 for 272 yards with a TD and an interception in his regular-season debut, a 24-7 Jet win. Revis Island began the first of many shut down performances silencing WR Andre Johnson to 35 yards on just four catches. The Jets then went on to start 3-0 before a midseason swoon that saw the need for the Sanchez color coded bracelet, and sliding lessons from Yankee manager Joe Girardi.
