Hecate
Triple-formed representation of Hecate in marble. This is a Roman copy after an original of the Hellenistic period and stands in Museo Chiaramonti in Vatican City. The artist is unknown.
Hecate was often represented in triple form, owing to her roles as Moon, Underworld, and Witchcraft Goddess, and also for the three main phases of the Moon; New, Full, and Dark. This triple aspect also lent to Her becoming known as the Goddess of the Three-Way Crossroads, as in triple form she could see three ways at once.
