If you find a obsession that fits you, join it and prove your obsession by uploading the best photos, videos and articles you can find.

If you don’t see a group for your sickness, start one yourself.

Fill the obsession groups with everything you know and love about your obsession. Vote up the content of the people who know what they’re talking about.

If you catch our host Alan Cumming's eye, the sickest of any group could be chosen to star on itsasickness TV.

Your obsession makes you interesting.

At the bottom of any page at itsasickness you can click [contact]

This will open a form that will send an email directly to the staff here at itsasickness.

On any page, upper right hand corner, click 'sign up'.

Enter the username you would like to have on itsasickness (Up to 16 characters)
Enter your email address, a short bio, zipcode, sex, and birthday, text from the captcha image (so we know you are human) and click [create account]

Click your username in the upper left corner.

Click the [edit account] button on the left side or the 'edit' tab at the top of your profile.
Browse your computer for the image you'd like to use by clicking the [browse] button.
Make sure to scroll down and click the [save changes] button to save your new photo.

Now that you're logged in you'll have to pick at least one obsession group to be a part of (or, start your own). There must be something you're obsessed with. Pick one of the submitted obsessions from the home page or click [obsessions], located at the top right.

Once you've found one that you like, all you have to do is click [join this obsession]

Click [add obsession] in the upper right navigation next to the search box. Make sure to write a description of your obsession. Have an image ready that represents your obsession and upload that here too.

Click [profile] on the navigation bar just right of the logo OR click your username in the top left.

Click the [x] next to the group you would like to leave and you will be asked if you are sure you want to remove it.
Click [remove] and you will no longer be a member of that obsession group.

First go to the obsession you want to add content to (become a member of that group if you aren't already) and then click [add content +]. The 'add content' link is also available through your profile page.

First, choose the obsession you are posting content to. Are you adding an image, an article, or a video? Check the appropriate box and click [next]. Note that you can link out to remote images (for photo), remote articles (for text), embed video from a provider such as Youtube or Vimeo (for video), or write original posts (for text).

1. Check off [upload an image] and click [next]

2. Click [choose image] and select the image you want to upload from your computer. MAKE SURE to click [upload] once you've selected it. This will open up the cropping tool.

3. Use the cropping tool to decide what part of your image will show in a thumbnail. (in some cases you will be able to use the whole image)

4. Give the image a title and a description.

5. Check the box [add this image to obsession logo queue] so your photo can be voted up as the best representation of the entire group. If you win the most votes your photo will become the default image for that main obsession page.
When you are done click preview to make sure everything looks ok, then click publish to make it live.

1. Check off [link to an image] and click [next]

2. Paste or type in the URL of the image you want to use. (note: currently photos found on flickr, imageshack, photobucket, and picasa are supported)

3. Give the image a title and a description.

4. Check the box [add this image to obsession logo queue] so your photo can be voted up as the best representation of the entire group. If you win the most votes your photo will become the default image for that main obsession page.

To write your own original article check off [text] and click [next] on the following screen check off [write sickthoughts] and click [next]

Give your article a title and add an image to it if you like (REMEMBER to click [upload]) and write your essay in the description field.

When you are done click preview to make sure everything looks ok, then click publish to make it live.

If you find an article someone else has written, or that you've already written on another website and would like to add it to the obsession group, check off [link to article] and click [next].

Paste in the URL of the article/blog post/etc. that you want to add to the obsession group. This will allow you to choose a thumbnail from that URL to go with the article. Select the right image by clicking the arrows at the bottom of that box.

If there is no appropriate image, or you don't want to include one, check off [check this for text only article (no image)]

Some of the article will automatically appear in the description box.

When you are done click preview to make sure everything looks ok, then click publish to make it live.

Check off [video] and click next.

Paste in the URL of the video you would like to add to the obsession group (Note: currently videos found on blip.tv, dailymotion, google, guba, last.fm, live video, metacafe, myspace, revver, spike tv, vimeo, and youtube are supported)

Give your video a title and a description.

When you are done click preview to make sure everything looks ok, then click publish to make it live.

Go to the page of the content you'd like to modify. Click the edit tab near the top left. Here you can edit text or change the thumbnail.

If you'd like to delete the content entirely just flag the content you'd like removed and a moderator will take care of it.
If it is not content that you yourself uploaded but feel it is incorrect or offensive or just in the wrong place, you are able to flag it as well for a moderator to look at.
