SUMMARY:

itsasickness prods. is seeking a talented Drupal Developer with Theming familiarity to join our team. This position works directly with the COO, Designer, and Community Manager to assist with technical build-out/development of our web sites, including our flagship site: www.itsasickness.com. This position's secondary responsibilities include working with our Drupal maintenance provider and helping grow itsasickness prods. IAS is an equal opportunity employer.


ABOUT IAS:

IAS is a New York City-based media company. The worlds of obsession have a place all their own with itsasickness, the new obsession-centered network. Whether it's on TV, online, or print, IAS presents the shows, stories, and online community precisely about that thing you’re obsessed with. We are producing several original Television series and building the online communities to support each of them. We re-imagine the relationship between Television and the internet, working with top talent in Arts & Entertainment; and now we seek a Drupal ninja to grow our online presence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide advice and consultation to the itsasickness team
• Design and develop new functionality for our sites, including database, PHP code, and Drupal module design
• Assist translating flat design files into HTML/CSS Drupal themes
• Cross browser compatibility testing and bug fixing
• Evaluating and profiling Drupal deployments to locate performance bottlenecks and fix them
• Maintain a good relationship with open-source communities that itsasickness interacts with
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as may be assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BS in computer science or web development, or significant equivalent experience.
• 2-4 years experience in web programming, including PHP and MySQL
• 1-2 years experience with web design and layout, including XHTML and CSS
• 1-2 years experience working with Jquery and AJAX technologies
• 1-2 years experience developing Drupal themes and working with the Drupal CMS
• Self-starter with strong self-management skills: goal & results oriented
• Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
• Experience with collaborative development tools such as CVS or Subversion
• Familiarity with shell scripting

BIG PLUS:

• Preference for candidates who have worked on web sites for video media or social networking
• Familiarity with Content Delivery Networks, media delivery, ad insertion, streaming media formats
• Social Networking API (Facebook, Twitter), syndication APIs
• Actionscript experience a huge plus
• Some kind of excitement for theatre / television / film
• Preference for candidates who provide valuable contributions to and play an active role in the Drupal community
• Fun-loving, irreverent, free-thinking people who want to make TV and the internet suck less
