Geekin' Out Over Deviled Eggs

Geekin' Out Over Deviled Eggs

Excuse me while I reminisce about deviled eggs for a moment.

*wipes away drool*

Seriously, now. Deviled eggs played a pretty awesome part of my childhood, which explains my current obsession. Coupled with pigs in a blanket, they were the ultimate party appetizer. I would filch them whenever they became available, because who knew when the next deviled egg-worthy occasion might be?

And unlike pigs in a blanket, which seemed to only appear in the cooler months, deviled eggs were (and are!) appropriate all year round. In spring, especially to use up hard-boiled Easter eggs; in summer, at a picnic; in fall...well, because I said so; and in winter, at any holiday gathering.

I would also like to say to all the deviled egg lovers out there - let's promote this great food from party snack to everyday nosh! There's no reason you can't hard-boil a few eggs, devil 'em up, and have them for lunch at the office, or an afternoon snack. Let's bring deviled eggs back into the mainstream, where they belong.

Pass the paprika!
